1943: the creation of maltova

Maltova was created in Malta in 1943 - two sisters, Elizabeth and Margaret, understood that babies needed a unique and soft product to help transition from milk to solid foods.

After trying various ideas, their persistence paid off and Maltova was born.

 

With its unique texture and secret formula, Maltova was an instant hit and many mothers in the village started to queue up behind the doors of the two sisters to get hold of Maltova.

 

The mothers in the village started to realise that their fussy-feeding babies just loved to eat Maltova.

The word spread fast and soon Maltova was being produced seven days a week to keep up with demand.  

In 1979:

Emmanuel Sammut and his sons, bought over the brand and started to produce it on an industrial scale, ensuring Maltova was available to all those who wanted it.

in 2021:

The brand was bought by Cherubino, thus ensuring that everyone’s favourite and much sought-after infant food brand remains available for generations to come. 

Today, Maltova is made with the same secret formula and unique texture as it was in 1943.
